Kizer Floods the Budget Tier With Five Folders Under $32

KizerOctober 23, 2026Source: Kizer Knives

Kizer spent the week restocking and relaunching the bottom of its catalog, and the result is a cluster of five folders that all cost less than a takeout dinner. The Yacht (L3004A1) is $31.50 with a 7.09-inch overall length and a clip point shaped like a boat cabin. The Ruler (L4003A1) is $28.20 and patterned after a measuring scale. The Submarine (L3005A1) is $28.80. The Seahorse (L3009A1) and the Sidekick (L3006A1) are both $26.40, with the Sidekick positioned as the compact pragmatist of the group.

The shared recipe is 9Cr18MoV blades on G10 handles. That is not a criticism. 9Cr18MoV is a Chinese stainless with decent corrosion resistance and a fine, easy-to-restore edge, and at these prices the alternative is 3Cr13 or a mystery steel. Kizer also publishes real specs โ€” the Yacht is 7.09 inches overall, the Sidekick and Seahorse are under 7 inches โ€” rather than leaving buyers to guess. Worth noting for buyers who are left-handed: none of these five list a left-hand clip option, and the Sidekick and Seahorse already show out of stock on several colorways. Kizer restocks this tier in batches rather than continuously, so the color you want may return in a month or not at all.

The interesting contrast is at the other end of the same brand. Kizer's Vault exclusives for Smoky Mountain Knife Works are now listed: the Sparrow 'Brotherhood' with a 2.88-inch 3V sheepsfoot on brown and silver aluminum, the Varatas 'Overseer' with a 3.27-inch black titanium-nitride blade on blue and yellow aluminum, and the Feist 'Get Wasted!' with a 2.88-inch Nitro-V drop point on brown G10. Those are collector items sold through SMKW, not the $28 line.

Which of the five makes sense depends on the blade you actually cut with. The Yacht's clip point with a long belly is the most general-purpose shape of the group. The Ruler is the novelty. The Sidekick is the one that disappears in a pocket. None of them will out-cut a $69 Vosteed Marten 330, and none of them are trying to.

All five are live on the Kizer site, and several colorways are already showing out of stock.
