Kubey's Belus Is 2.95 Inches in Purple G10

KubeyOctober 30, 2026Source: Kubey

Rose gold PVD on a 14C28N blade with a purple G10 handle is a bold combination, and the Kubey Belus KU342N commits to it for $80. Under the colour scheme is a sensible 2.95-inch drop point that weighs 109 grams.

The spec: 7.01 inches overall, 2.95-inch drop point in 14C28N, flat grind, rose gold PVD finish, 0.12 inch stock, 4.13-inch purple G10 handle at 0.51 inch thick, stainless clip, black PVD hardware, rose gold pivot, liner lock, caged ceramic bearings, 109 grams, HRC 60-62.

PVD on 14C28N is protection rather than necessity. The steel is already the most corrosion resistant thing in Kubey's catalog, so the coating buys you scratch resistance and a colour that does not chip off the way paint would. Rose gold is a polarising choice: it photographs well and it dates quickly. Whether that is a feature depends on whether you bought the knife as a tool or as an accessory.

The lock is a standard liner, which at this price and this size is entirely adequate; what you are paying for over the $50 tier is the steel, the PVD and the fit. The size is the real argument. At 7.01 inches overall and 109 grams, the Belus is the smallest knife in Kubey's new releases and the easiest to carry in a shirt pocket. Against the Hamster at $110 you save $30 and give up 0.51 inch of blade, 43 grams and a full titanium hardware set. Against the Avenger at $50 you pay $30 for 14C28N instead of D2 and a nicer finish.

Verdict: the right knife if you want something small, light and colourful that cuts well and needs almost no maintenance. Skip it if you want a subdued carry knife — purple G10 and rose gold PVD is not a look that hides.
