Microtech Releases Limited Run Socom Elite Manual with DLC Coating
Microtech has released a limited production run of the Socom Elite manual folder with a full DLC coating, offering a stealthy, corrosion-resistant version of the classic tactical design.
The new Socom Elite Manual features a drop point blade in M390MK steel with a full black DLC coating that resists scratches and eliminates reflections. The handle is 6061-T6 aluminum with an anodized black finish, and the hardware is similarly DLC-coated for a uniform appearance. The result is a completely blacked-out tactical folder.
The Socom Elite manual uses the same robust construction as the automatic version but operates through a manual flipper mechanism. The blade rides on phosphor bronze washers, delivering a smooth hydraulic action that many enthusiasts prefer over bearing-assisted drops.
The DLC coating provides additional corrosion resistance and a non-reflective finish suitable for low-light applications. The trade-off is that DLC will show wear on the edge over time from cutting.
As a limited run, the DLC Socom Elite Manual is expected to move quickly through Microtech's dealer network. For Microtech collectors, this is a compelling option.
