Vosteed Parallel A3522: Spiderweb Etched Titanium with S35VN Steel Upgrade

VosteedJuly 24, 2026Source: Gear Patrol

When the Vosteed Parallel launched in 2025, it immediately changed expectations for what a slim EDC knife could be. To this day, it remains one of the thinnest locking knives ever made, and the new A3522 spiderweb edition builds on that foundation with meaningful upgrades.

The core formula is unchanged: a titanium handle with crossbar lock, thumb stud deployment, and a wire pocket clip that keeps the carry profile minimal. The dimensions are what made the Parallel famous โ€” at just over 0.3 inches thick closed, it disappears in the pocket entirely. If you've ever complained about a knife being too bulky for office-appropriate carry, the Parallel is the answer.

What's new with the A3522 is the etched spiderweb pattern on the titanium handle. It's not just cosmetic โ€” the etching provides significantly better grip than the smooth titanium of previous versions. Anyone who's owned a smooth titanium knife knows the struggle of trying to open it with wet or sweaty hands. The spiderweb texture solves that problem while looking genuinely cool. The pattern is laser-etched and shouldn't wear off with normal use.

The steel upgrade to S35VN is welcome. Previous Parallel models used 14C28N or Nitro-V, both good steels, but S35VN is a clear step up in edge retention and wear resistance. It's a premium powder metallurgy stainless steel developed jointly by Crucible Industries and Chris Reeve Knives, and it's become the gold standard for production knives in the $150-200 range.

At $169, the Parallel A3522 sits in a competitive spot. It's more expensive than the standard Parallel but less than titanium frame locks from Reate or Kunwu. The crossbar lock (similar to Benchmade's AXIS lock) provides ambidextrous operation and rock-solid lockup. The spiderweb etching and S35VN upgrade justify the premium over the base model.

Available now on Amazon and Vosteed's website, the Parallel A3522 is an easy recommendation for anyone who prioritizes slim carry above all else.
