WE Knife NexoMorph: The Transforming Knife That Shifts from Folder to Push Dagger

Every once in a while, a knife comes along that makes you stop and ask 'how did they do that?' The WE Knife NexoMorph is that knife for 2026. It's a pocket knife that literally transforms — the handle reconfigures around the blade to shift from a traditional folding knife grip to a push dagger orientation at the press of a button. It sounds like a gimmick until you see the engineering involved.

The mechanism works by having a segmented titanium handle that slides and locks into two distinct positions. In its standard folder configuration, the NexoMorph looks like any other premium WE Knife — a sleek, titanium-handled, M390-bladed EDC. But press the release button and slide the handle sections, and the grip reorients so the blade points forward between your fingers in a push-dagger stance. It's a mechanical party trick that blurs the line between knife design and industrial engineering.

Is it practical? For most EDC users, probably not. The transformation mechanism adds complexity, weight, and cost that the average pocket knife carrier will never need. But that's also kind of the point. The NexoMorph is WE Knife flexing its design and manufacturing capability, showing what's possible when you treat knife design as an engineering challenge rather than a tradition to be preserved.

At $540, this is firmly in collector and enthusiast territory. The M390 blade steel is a proven performer — excellent edge retention, good corrosion resistance, and the ability to take a very fine edge. The titanium handle keeps weight reasonable despite the mechanical complexity of the transformation system.

Comparisons to the much cheaper but similarly unconventional Kizer Clutch Lock or the CIVIVI button lock designs aren't really fair — those are evolutionary refinements of existing mechanisms, while the NexoMorph is genuinely new territory. The closest analog might be the extinct Benchmade Infidel OTF's mechanical complexity, but even that doesn't reconfigure its handle shape.

WE Knife is currently treating the NexoMorph as a sample/prototype, so final production specs and availability are still TBD. But as a proof of concept for where mechanical knife design is headed, it's the most conversation-starting piece of EDC hardware we've seen this year.
