Benchmade SlipRidge Brings Three New Hunting Blades to the Field

BenchmadeOctober 14, 2026Source: AllOutdoor

Benchmade has spent the last decade building out its hunting line piece by piece, and the new SlipRidge collection is the clearest statement yet that the brand wants to be taken seriously in the field rather than only in the pocket. SlipRidge debuts with three blade options, which is a deliberate structure: rather than one hero knife, Benchmade is offering hunters a family sized to different jobs and hand sizes.

Hunting knives live or die by ergonomics during messy, cold, one-handed work. The priorities are a handle that does not slip when wet, a blade profile that follows the curve of a hide without puncturing it, and a steel that holds an edge through multiple animals. Any new collection has to answer those three questions better than the fixed blade already in the hunter's pack, and Benchmade's reputation for consistent heat treatment and a strong warranty is the main argument it brings to the category.

Compared with the dedicated skinning and caping knives that dominate the market, a three-model launch is a broad bet. It gives buyers options but also puts SlipRidge in competition with established hunting specialists whose entire catalog is built around this one use case. Benchmade's advantage is manufacturing consistency and dealer availability; its challenge is convincing traditional hunters to pay production-knife-plus money for a blade they will use four weekends a year.

For a buyer, the sensible way to read the collection is by task. Choose the profile that matches how you break down game, not the one that looks best in photos, and treat the handle material as a comfort decision rather than a spec-sheet one. The three-option structure exists precisely because there is no single correct answer.

One detail worth watching as reviews land is steel selection across the three models. Benchmade has been steadily moving its hunting and outdoor lineup toward modern high-performance alloys, and if SlipRidge follows that pattern, the collection's real value will show up in edge retention after a full season of use rather than in the announcement photos.

SlipRidge is shipping now through Benchmade's dealer network in all three configurations.
