Kansept's $69.99 Link Puts a Top Liner Lock on a Triple Stripe Design

KanseptSeptember 28, 2026Source: Kansept Knives

Kansept has spent 2026 turning mid-tier collaborations into its volume business, and the Link is the clearest example yet: a Johnathan Shaw design under the Triple Stripe Knives name, brought down from the custom-price tier to a $69.99 production knife without changing the geometry.

The spec sheet: a 2.98-inch compound-ground harpoon blade with subtle tanto geometry, offered in satin 14C28N on the T1068H1 or Damascus on the T1068H2. The handle is milled aluminum in black with grooves on the H1 and milled purple aluminum on the H2, and the whole thing runs on a top liner lock with a glowing back spacer. Deployment is deliberately over-served — front flipper, a large opening hole, and a thumb stud, so the knife opens the way you already open knives rather than the way the designer does.

The compound grind is the interesting spec. A harpoon tip with tanto-flavored geometry means a thicker primary bevel near the tip and a thinner one through the belly, which is a way of buying tip strength without turning the whole blade into a wedge. On a 2.98-inch knife that spends most of its life on tape and cardboard, that is a sensible trade. 14C28N at this price is the default budget-correct answer: fine edge, easy to sharpen on anything, and corrosion-resistant enough to ignore.

Compare it with Kansept's own lineup. The Lucero released alongside it is a $89.89–$148.89 liner lock built for a night out rather than a toolbox, and the Ptarmigan sits up at $199.89–$319.89 with FatCarbon and timascus options. The Link is the third path: same brand, same lock-type philosophy, more aggressive blade shape, and a price that leaves room for a sharpening stone.

Verdict: buyers who want a titanium-adjacent fidget knife under $100 should look at the Link before the usual budget suspects. Choose the H1 in 14C28N if this is a user; choose the H2 in Damascus if it is a looker. Either way you are paying for design and lock quality rather than steel, which is the correct way to spend $70 on a folder.
