Kansept's Loki started life as a custom fixed blade designed around ergonomics first and styling second. The folder version keeps the sculpted handle and shrinks the whole thing to 6.88 inches overall — a genuinely small knife with a non-obvious steel choice.
The K1058B8 runs a 2.99-inch drop point in Elmax at 0.126 inch stock, flat ground, blackwash finish, in a blackwash titanium handle with copper accents. The lock is a frame lock, overall length is 6.88 inches, and every handle edge is chamfered and polished rather than left crisp. That last detail is the one Kansept keeps emphasising, and it is worth taking seriously: a compact handle has less surface area to distribute pressure, so a sharp corner becomes a hotspot far faster than it would on a four-inch handle.
Elmax is the reason to look at this over the dozen other sub-three-inch titanium frames at the same price. It is a powder-metallurgy stainless from Bohler-Uddeholm with high chromium and vanadium content — excellent corrosion resistance, high wear resistance, and notably tougher than S35VN at similar hardness. In a 2.99-inch blade that translates to an edge that survives contact with staples and ceramic plates without micro-chipping, which is the usual death of a small folder's edge.
The titanium-and-copper handle is a look, not a function. Copper will patina, and on a knife the patina comes from your hands and whatever is in your pocket, so the finish will change over months. Some people buy that; others want a knife that looks the same in year three. If you are the second type, the blackwash titanium versions of the same pattern are the safer choice. The sculpted geometry does give a solid, locked-in grip despite the small footprint.
Verdict: at $189.89 the Loki is a compact titanium frame lock with a genuinely premium steel, and the chamfering suggests Kansept understood the ergonomic problem small knives create. Buy it if you want a discreet knife with real steel in it; skip it if you need four fingers on the handle, because 6.88 inches overall will not give you that comfortably.
