Kizer's Cozy Angles Its Handle to Keep Fingers Clear

KizerOctober 24, 2026Source: Kizer Knives

The Cozy is a knife designed around a problem most folders ignore: what happens to your hand when you cut against a surface. Carlos and Azo canted the blade and shaped the handle so that knuckles stay off the table during a push cut. Kizer sells the V3613C2 for $52.50, and it is one of the few budget designs where the ergonomics were the brief rather than an afterthought.

Geometry: 7.76 inches overall, a 3.31-inch drop point in 154CM at 0.12 inch stock, a 4.45-inch Micarta handle, 3.89 ounces, stainless liners, tip-up clip, flipper opening. 154CM is a real step up from the 9Cr18MoV used on Kizer's $26 to $29 models, and it is the reason this knife costs twice as much as the Submarine. Expect meaningfully better edge stability in cardboard and a heat-treat window that tolerates a thin edge.

Put the Cozy next to Kizer's own Agressor at $62.30 and the choice is material versus metallurgy. The Agressor brings 3V at 2.99 inches and a Richlite handle, which is a tougher steel in a smaller package. The Cozy brings a longer blade, a more neutral handle angle, and Micarta that will age with use. Neither is a hard-use knife. Both are aimed at people who cut tape, food and packaging daily and want a handle that does not punish them for it.

Verdict: the thinking-person's budget Kizer. The canted handle is not marketing โ€” it changes how the knife feels on a cutting board, and 154CM gives you an edge that stays put. If you want a compact fixed-angle work knife that folds, the Cozy earns its $52.50. If you want a hard-use beater, spend the extra ten dollars on the Agressor's 3V.

One warning on the Micarta: green canvas slabs darken quickly with hand oils, so the Cozy will look used within a month of real carry. Treat that as patina rather than damage. Also check the pivot tension out of the box โ€” 154CM on bearings wants a light touch, and an over-tightened Kizer flipper will feel gritty until you back the pivot off a quarter turn.
