The Corgi is the knife that made Vosteed's reputation, and the Corgi V V is the version that stopped pretending to be a novelty. The A5104 trim puts a 2.91-inch 154CM blade in a wider carbon fibre handle with the company's Vanchor Lock for $109.
Vanchor Lock is the technical story: it integrates the pivot and the lock release into a single mechanism, which lets Vosteed keep the dual-flipper layout without burying a separate lock bar under the scales. The two flippers are shaped like corgi ears โ front and back, mirrored โ so the knife opens the same way whether you push from the top or pull from the bottom. An enlarged lock button gives your thumb a wider contact patch than the earlier Corgi V.
What changed for this version is the handle. Carbon fibre is lighter and stiffer than the aluminium and G10 versions, and Vosteed widened the handle slightly to get a better purchase on a 2.91-inch blade. The jimping on the flippers is denser than before, which matters on a flipper this short โ a 2.91-inch blade does not have much leverage, so traction at the tab is the difference between a clean deployment and a half-open knife. There is a reversible deep-carry clip with a reshaped ramp that clears a thumb more easily.
The honest limitation is the steel. 154CM at this price is fine โ good corrosion resistance, reasonable edge retention, easy to sharpen โ but it is not what $109 usually buys in 2026, where 14C28N, Nitro-V and even S35VN appear regularly. You are paying for the lock, the symmetry and the finish here, not the metallurgy. That is a legitimate trade if the knife is a carry piece you open and close twenty times a day; it is a bad trade if you need a blade that holds an edge through a week of work.
Verdict: the Corgi V V in carbon fibre is the best-looking version of Vosteed's signature lock, at a price that reflects the mechanism rather than the steel. Buy it for the fidget factor and the silhouette. Skip it if you want premium blade steel at a hundred and ten dollars, because you can find that elsewhere.
