Vosteed's Marten 330 Refreshes a $69 Gentleman's Folder

VosteedOctober 23, 2026Source: Vosteed

The Marten 330 is the quietest knife in Vosteed's lineup and one of the most useful: a 3.30-inch drop point in 14C28N, a top liner lock, and a handle that stays out of the way in a pocket. This edition keeps the ergonomics and changes the details, which is usually the right call on a knife that already works.

What changed is color and finish coordination. Vosteed added metallic-finished liners that sit under the scales and give the handle a visible edge of contrast, and it coordinated scale color, hardware, liner finish and blade treatment across the variants so each version reads as a single design rather than a parts-bin assembly. G10 and micarta versions are both offered, and the price band runs from $69 to $69.99. One practical note on the liner finish: metallic liners are visible at the handle edge, so they pick up scuffs from keys and pocket change faster than a matte liner would. On a $69 knife that is a cosmetic detail rather than a problem, but it is the first place the knife will look used.

14C28N at this price is the sensible specification. It is a nitrogen-bearing stainless that takes a keen edge, sharpens quickly on a simple stone, and has enough corrosion resistance for a knife that gets put away damp. It will not hold an edge like S90V or MagnaCut, and it is not supposed to at $69. The top liner lock keeps the handle thin by putting the lock bar above the pivot line rather than through the frame.

Compared with the Corgi V V at $89.99, the Marten gives you 0.39 inch more blade and a simpler mechanism for $20 less. Compared with the Kizer budget tier at $26 to $32, it costs more than double and gives you better steel, better finishing and a lock that will not develop play in a year. For an office-appropriate folder that still cuts, this is the middle of the market done right.

Spine jimping provides the control point, and the metallic liners are the detail you notice in hand. Current colorways and pricing are on the Vosteed product page.
