WE Knife's MagnaCut Elementum Adds Titanium for $217.60

WE KnifeSeptember 26, 2026Source: The Gadgeteer

A premium Elementum has to justify itself beyond a materials list, and WE Knife's answer with the WE18062XA series is weight. The gray WE18062XA-2 uses a 2.96-inch CPM MagnaCut blade and a 6AL4V titanium handle machined in a topographic pattern, and the published figure is 2.39 ounces.

The blade is a drop point, 0.11 inches thick, flat ground and gray stonewashed. MagnaCut is the powder-metallurgy stainless designed to balance toughness, edge retention and corrosion resistance at the same time โ€” it is the alloy most knife companies reach for when they want an upgrade that does not come with an obvious downside. The handle is 0.38 inches thick, which is how WE kept the profile slim rather than adding a palm swell to justify the material. Overall length is 6.98 inches, the lock is a frame lock built into the titanium handle, the pivot runs on caged ceramic ball bearings, and the deployment is a manual flipper with a reversible tip-up titanium clip.

The price is the complication. WE lists the WE18062XA series at $217.60 MSRP with a $184.96 minimum advertised price. Compare that with the standard aluminum-and-fragged-titanium Elementum, or with the $217.60 bronze-and-black WE18062XA-3 if you prefer the darker treatment; the hardware is the same and only the finish changes. Two things are worth naming honestly: MagnaCut in a 2.96-inch blade will not out-cut a well-heat-treated Nitro-V or S35VN blade by a margin most users will feel, and titanium handles trade grip texture for looks unless the machining earns it.

Where the knife makes sense is against its own family. If you want an Elementum for opening packages and you like the shape, the standard versions do that for well under half the price. If you have decided you want MagnaCut and titanium specifically, and you want them without the knife growing into a 4-ounce brick, 2.39 ounces at 6.98 inches is the reason to pay.

Verdict: buy the WE18062XA-2 or -3 for the combination, not for the steel alone. It keeps the Elementum's dimensions while upgrading the materials, which is what a premium variant should do โ€” just understand you are paying for carry comfort and finish, not for dramatically better cutting.
