WE Knife's NexoMorph Uses M390 and a Morphing Button Lock for $540

WE KnifeSeptember 26, 2026Source: WE Knife

The name is not marketing fluff. WE Knife's NexoMorph WE24037B is built around a flipper-and-button mechanism the company describes as morphing, and it is the most mechanically unusual knife in the brand's current lineup — a 2.95-inch Böhler M390 blade in a titanium frame starting at $540.

Three variants are listed. The WE24037B-1 runs a black titanium handle with a black stonewashed M390 blade at $540.00. The WE24037B-2 swaps to a gray titanium handle with a stonewashed blade at the same $540.00. The WE24037B-3 wears a flamed titanium handle with a hand-rubbed satin blade at $558.70. All three are 2.95-inch blades with thumb stud and button lock deployment, and all three are folding knives with the morphing mechanism that gives the model its name.

M390 is the argument on the steel side. Böhler's third-generation powder metallurgy stainless is a high-vanadium alloy with outstanding wear resistance and corrosion resistance, hardened by WE in this family to a level that holds an edge through long use. The tradeoff is familiar: M390 is not forgiving to sharpen, and a 64-HRC-class edge on a 2.95-inch blade will reward diamond stones and punish anyone who lets it go dull and tries to bring it back on a kitchen rod. Compared with MagnaCut in the company's VARG and Elementum lines, M390 gives up some toughness for wear resistance.

Titanium on all three variants keeps weight down, but at $540 to $558.70 you are past the point where a knife competes on utility. The comparison that matters is inside WE's own catalog: a MagnaCut VARG at $315 or an Elementum WE18062XA at $217.60 both cut everyday material, and neither asks you to learn a new lock mechanism. The NexoMorph is for buyers who want the mechanism itself.

Verdict: a collector's knife with a usable blade. Buy it for the morphing button lock and the flamed titanium, not because M390 solves a problem your current knife has. If you want the best cutting value in WE's lineup, the VARG at $315 is the smarter money.
