WE Knife's newest production model is the Tiercel, and the specification sheet is the argument. The listing on the brand's own store shows a 3.24-inch blade in CPM MagnaCut, a titanium handle, and two opening methods on the same knife - a flipper tab and a thumb hole - with prices running from $240 to $260 across four finishes.
MagnaCut is the reason this is worth a second look. Developed by Larrin Thomas, it is a stainless powder steel designed to hold an edge about as well as CPM-4V while being far more corrosion resistant, which is exactly the balance most EDC users want. It has become the default premium choice for American makers, and it is still uncommon to see it at this price in a titanium-framed knife. The Tiercel offers it in satin finish on the flamed titanium version, listed at $250, and in black stonewash on the $240 black and gray variants.
The dual opening is more useful than it sounds. A flipper is fast but depends on a pivot tuned loose enough to deploy reliably, and a thumb hole works regardless of how the pivot is set but is a two-stage motion. Having both means the knife still opens cleanly if the action tightens up after a few years of pocket lint and grit, which is the failure mode that kills single-method flippers. The trade is a blade with a hole cut through it, which some buyers dislike and which adds a place for debris to collect.
Against the field, $240 is entry-level for a made-in-China titanium framelock from a premium brand, and it is still more than most buyers spend on a work knife. The closest alternatives are WE's own Elementum in titanium at $217.60 and the Civivi Elite models starting around $136.50, both of which use less advanced steel. The Tiercel is the sensible middle: modern steel, a titanium frame, two ways to open it, and a price that undercuts the American mid-tech equivalents by a wide margin. Note that the newest variants are listed but not yet flagged as in stock, so expect a wait.
