WE Knife's Tracks Limited Edition Weighs 5.04 Ounces
Two hundred pieces, a signed certificate, a serial number, and 5.04 ounces of desert terrain titanium. The Tracks WE23059-1 is the middle child of WE Knife's October limited releases, and its 0.16-inch blade stock in Bohler M390 tells you what kind of knife it is before you open it.
Dimensions: 8.8 inches overall, a 3.88-inch blade, 4.92-inch closed length, 0.59-inch handle thickness โ the thickest of WE's current limited trio โ and a weight of 5.04 ounces. M390 at 58-60 HRC in a 4mm blade is a hard-use specification; there is enough material behind the edge to survive a careless cut into a staple or a can, and the steel will hold that edge far longer than the S35VN used on cheaper knives in this size class.
Where the Tracks differs from the Tally is in the hand. A 0.59-inch handle and 5.04 ounces is a deliberate, old-fashioned choice at a moment when every other maker is chasing three-ounce titanium framelocks. WE is not trying to hide the mass; the terrain finish and slab-like proportions are meant to feel substantial, and for a knife that lives in work gloves rather than dress trousers that is the right call.
Compare it with the Tally at $390 for 4.06 ounces and the Gunwale at $470 for 5.47 ounces. All three run M390, all three are numbered limited runs, and all three sit within 0.04 inch of blade length. The decision is entirely about handle bias: the Tracks is the middle option, an ounce heavier than the Tally and nearly half an ounce lighter than the Gunwale, and $40 cheaper than the Gunwale for the same steel.
Verdict: buy the Tracks if you like a knife with visible heft and a finish that refuses to look delicate. It is the most conventional of WE's limited trio and the least compromised on durability. Just know that 5.04 ounces in a 3.88-inch folder is a 2015 sensibility in a 2026 catalog.
