WE Knife's Unnamed 'Pending' Folder Is a 3.55-Ounce M390 Slicer
Every so often a production knife reaches dealers before it has a name. WE Knife's new WE26026 is listed simply as Pending, and the placeholder is hard to read as anything other than a knife that was pushed out of the door while the marketing copy was still being written.
The specs make the case better than the name does. Overall length is 7.84 inches, blade length 3.29 inches, closed length 4.55 inches, and the weight is 3.55 ounces. The blade is Bohler M390 at 58-60 HRC, flat ground, in a modified clip point with black stonewashed bevels over black brushed flats. The handle is 6AL4V titanium with a carbon fiber inlay and a 0.48-inch thickness. The variant listed here is sample 1 at $375, with a second sample at $387.
Set it next to the Foreshock and the design brief becomes obvious. Both are M390 titanium flippers of roughly the same footprint, but the Pending is nearly three quarters of an ounce lighter and about 0.2 inch longer in the blade. The lighter, longer blade with a clip point is the more general-purpose shape; the harpoon on the Foreshock is a statement. Buyers who carry the knife more than they photograph it will probably prefer this one. WE Knife labels these as sample runs โ Sample1 and Sample2 in the model number โ which is why the same shape appears twice at $375 and $387 with different inlays. That is worth knowing before you buy: a sample listing is not the same as a full production line, and the variant you order may not be restocked when it sells out. The modified clip point also spends less blade height than a harpoon, which makes the 3.29-inch length cut closer to its full measure rather than losing an inch to a deep plunge.
The honest caveat is the name. A knife sold as Pending tells you it is a sample-run piece, and sample runs are finite. If the design gets a proper launch later with a wider variant spread, the early copies with the placeholder label become an oddity rather than a collectible. If you like it, buy it because the numbers work, not because the label might.
