WE Knife's VARG Flipper Runs From $315 MagnaCut to $675 Damasteel

WE KnifeSeptember 26, 2026Source: WE Knife

WE Knife's VARG is one of those releases where the variants tell the story better than the base specification. Every version is a 2.96-inch flipper with a carbon-fiber-inlaid titanium handle; what changes across the five SKUs is the steel and the finish, and the spread runs from $315 to $675.

Three variants sit on CPM MagnaCut. The WE25074-2 pairs a gray titanium handle with a black-and-yellow carbon-fiber inlay and a stonewashed blade at $315.00. The WE25074-1 uses a black-and-golden titanium handle with a copper-foil carbon-fiber inlay and a black stonewashed blade at $329.40. The WE25074-4 goes to a blue-and-satin titanium handle with an aluminum-foil carbon-fiber inlay and a hand-rubbed satin MagnaCut blade at $338.70. The WE25074-3 wears a tiger-stripe flamed titanium handle with a rose-patterned inlay at $315.00.

At the top, the WE25074-DS1 moves to a polished gray titanium handle with a multi-color carbon-fiber inlay and a 2.96-inch Fafnir Damasteel blade at $675.00. Damasteel is a pattern-welded powder steel โ€” the pattern is real, produced by forge-welding layers, not printed on the surface. That is where most of the $675 goes: not to better cutting performance, but to a blade that looks different in every light and cannot be mistaken for a production line knife.

MagnaCut is the practical choice across the range: a stainless with high toughness, strong corrosion resistance and edge retention that competes with S35VN while surviving abuse better. Fafnir Damasteel cuts well in its own right, but you buy it for the pattern. The inlay work matters for the same reason. Copper foil, aluminum foil and multi-color carbon fiber change the knife's weight and appearance rather than its function, and the handles are titanium on all five, so none of them is a value play โ€” they are all premium carry knives in the $300-and-up bracket.

Verdict: pick a MagnaCut variant if you want the design with a steel you can use hard โ€” the $315 gray-and-black model is the value of the group. Step to the DS1 only if the Damasteel pattern is the reason you are buying.

All five VARG variants are limited-production runs โ€” check current WE25074 stock and pricing before ordering.
