CIVIVI's 12th-Anniversary Elementum Wears Nebula FatCarbon

CIVIVINovember 4, 2026Source: The Gadgeteer

Anniversary editions usually mean a laser-etched logo and a higher price. CIVIVI went further with the Elementum: the 12th-anniversary knife replaces the model's signature black G10 with Nebula FatCarbon, a red, blue and white swirl material, and limits the run to 2,014 numbered pieces, each with a signed certificate. The price is $108.53, and CIVIVI's own stock is already gone.

The interesting part is that CIVIVI changed the mechanism, not just the scales. The standard C907A Elementum is a flipper with a liner lock. This one opens on thumb studs and closes on a crossbar lock, so the hand feel is different even though the outline is instantly recognizable. Blade length stays at 2.96 inches, overall length is 6.99 inches, closed it is 4.03 inches, and it weighs 2.9 ounces.

Under the black stonewash is CPM S35VN at 58 to 60 HRC in a hollow drop point, which is a step up from the D2 of the standard model and the reason the anniversary knife can justify its price on more than looks. The pivot keeps the caged ceramic bearings. The only titanium on the knife is the 6AL4V pocket clip, reversible for left or right tip-up carry; the screws, thumb studs and liners stay stainless, blacked out to match.

The comparison that matters is with the Elementum you can actually buy. A regular C907A costs roughly half as much, weighs the same, and cuts identically for most owners. What the anniversary knife adds is a crossbar lock, a better steel, and a handle material that will never be produced again in that pattern — three things a collector values and a user mostly does not.

Verdict: worth hunting down if you collect Elementums or you want a crossbar-lock version in a material nobody else has, and you are comfortable paying a premium for both. Skip it if you want a knife to open boxes with, because the standard Elementum does that at half the money.
